Mom’s Morning Out

The Details

  • Vision

My education philosophy recognizes that each child is made in the image of God, uniquely created and naturally curious. My mission is to nurture that curiosity through play-based learning, outdoor exploration, social-emotional development, dedicated study of God's Word through storytelling, and lots of singing and dancing!

  • Curriculum

I believe preschoolers learn best through play, not just worksheets. That's why for our program, I've selected Busy Toddler’s “Playing Preschool: Volume 2”. If you are interested in purchasing this curriculum to use at home on the days we don't meet, I definitely encourage it! I will be sharing what we are learning and when, so you can easily follow along with your child.

For our time learning about God, we will be using elements from God’s Big Story. Their website explains, “The curriculum is rooted in the incredible truth that God has come to rescue his children...through his Son Jesus Christ. It explores the biblical narrative...through liturgy, song, scripture memory, story presentation, wondering questions...prayer, and many reflective and creative responses.”

I have personally used both of these curriculums in different settings and truly love them. In addition to these resources, we will also spend a good amount of time outdoors, enjoying and exploring God’s creation.

About Ms. Erin

  • I am first and foremost a child of God and grateful for the immeasurable gift of caring for his littlest creations.

  • I am the mother to two wonderful children, a 4 year old boy and almost 1 year old girl.

  • I graduated from Berry College in Rome, GA in 2015 with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education, minor in Spanish, and endorsement in teaching English as a Second Language.

  • I taught in a Title 1 Public Elementary School from 2015-2021.

  • I served as a Kids Ministry Director at a local church in San Antonio. In this role, I was responsible for the comprehensive oversight of their children's program. This included strategic planning and the creation of a new program vision, the selection and rollout of a new curriculum, equipping our volunteer team through training, and direct instruction in a 1st and 2nd-grade classroom.

  • In 2022, I created and launched Tailor-Made Teacher where I created custom materials for educators.

  • Most recently, I have started Mom’s Morning Out as a way to merge my love for teaching and creating, while also serving the needs of the community.
